About the Role:
This role will suit a technical products-minded professional who is driven, goal-oriented, and thrives in a varied and fast paced environment with the ability to build strong professional working relationships at all levels. With knowledge in the principles and practices of window glazing/glass, architecture, building science, energy, and the specification process. The successful candidate will have excellent problem solving and communication skills in addition to technical product knowledge. Will work closely with a wide range of business influencers, including Commercial Window Covering Fabricators, Architects, Designers, and Commercial Dealers, the ability to command and influence people is key to this role. This role is based in Cowpens, SC and reports to the Commercial Business Manager.
• Point person for Mermet commercial customers for fabric selection, technical fabric information, solar performance, and overall glass + fabric combined performance.
• Point person to the architectural & design community for Mermet.
• Specify Mermet on commercial and hospitality roller shade projects.
• Review architectural designs to provide comprehensive solar shade analysis for proper fabric selection and specification highlighting Mermet fabrics to architects, interior designers, specifiers, and other AEC-related groups.
• Work to attain Mermet fabrics as the Basis of Design (BOD) in commercial project specifications. • Identify key targets in the region who have influence over product selection at each stage of design and construction.
• Maintain and update CRM software with project pipeline of all tracked building information, construction timelines, and fabrics selected. This would also include tracking the growth of target AEC firms with logged meetings conducted, BOD’s created, CEU’s given, contacts and other related relevant job activities.
• Create industry awareness of quantified fabric performance when analyzed with the glazing.
Key Qualifications Include:
• 3+ years technical sales experience to AEC for either a glass manufacturer, window sales, other solar control building material, or industry consultant (energy, lighting, or building facade).
• Results oriented, self-starter and proactive solution provider.
• Proven planning and organization skills leading to the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Requires excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent Presentation Skills. • Excellent problem-solving skills with an entrepreneurial spirit.
• Ability to travel a must, up to 35% of total time.
Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree. Education background in Building Science, Architecture, Engineering or Administration.
