Textile Maintenance Technician $20.00 - $24.00/hr

The Textile Maintenance Technician is responsible for the general maintenance and repair of the weaving looms.

Job Duties:

  • Safely troubleshoot, maintain, and repair looms.
  • Follow a preventative maintenance schedule to keep looms in good running condition.
  • Document loom conditions and repair log.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of the area.

Tie-in Operator $16.52-$18.52/ hr

Job Duties:

  • Go to warp out, inspect for ends out, replace as needed.

Coating Line Operator (Creeler) $16.00-$18.00/hr

The Coating Line Operator is responsible for starting, stopping, cleaning, and maintaining the Coating Machine while ensuring that high-quality coated yarn is produced.

  • Safely operate PVC coating line and maintain in good operating condition.
  • Thread lines and remove/replace yarn bobbins/packages.
  • Monitor plastisol flow and perform change-over.
  • Complete daily checklist, maintain cleanliness and safety of the area.
  • Required general manufacturing experience: 1 – 2 years

Job Duties:

  • Safely prepares liquid PVC batches by weighing and measuring chemical ingredient.
  • Mix and stir pigments and weigh batch components per formulation sheet.

Production Manager

General Summary

General - The Production Manager position is an exempt position responsible for managing Mermet’s manufacturing processes.

 

Policy Making Responsibility - The Production Manager will be responsible ensuring the timely production of product which meets defined standards.

 

Decision Making Responsibility - Routine decisions include, but are not limited to, decision in regard to evaluating production employee needs.

 

Supervisory Responsibility – This position has supervisory responsibility of hourly production employees and the production supervisors.

 

Safety – Employees are responsible for individual compliance with all safety rules, regulations and policy procedures.  Employee responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Complying with all safety rules and regulations
  • Reporting any unsafe practices and/or conditions to their supervisor
  • Maintaining floor safety discipline by interceding with fellow employees, who may engage in rule violations and/or unsafe, unhealthy activities
  • Communicating to management those employees who persist in violations of safety rules and/or procedures
  • Wearing required personal protective equipment properly and reporting any defective PPE
  • Reporting all near misses, accidents, injuries or illnesses, including Muscular Skeletal symptoms or disorders

 

Essential Responsibilities

Responsible for the overall management of the team which includes both the day and the night shift.

Participate in hiring production associates, manage and improve on boarding training.

M.)

Provide production associates with performance feedback and improvement plan when necessary in coordination with HR department and direct supervisor

Perform and / or manage some administrative tasks such as but not limited to: payroll, AX , Just data maintenance, KPIs

O.)

Work closely with all other departments to maintain an optimal plant performance and team spirit

 

 

Essential Physical Demands and Working Conditions

In this position, the employee will be subjected to physical demands requiring:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds
  • Ability to perform standard office body movements:
    • frequent sitting at desk and using computer keyboard
    • frequent standing and walking around
    • occasional bending, squatting, stooping, reaching, pulling, pushing
  • Ability to use a computer including visual acuity and hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in English
  • Ability to tolerate moderate office and production floor noise levels

 

Hours of work – The normal work hours for this position are 40+ per week.  The Production Manager will normally work day shift hours.

 

Education, Experience and Skills

The Production Manager position has the following required (or preferred, as indicated) education, experience and skills:

 

Education:

Required:     A bachelor’s degree or 10+ years of equivalent experience in production management for a manufacturer

 

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of production process technics such as Lean Manufacturing

Production Supervisor

Decision Making Responsibility - Routine decisions include, but are not limited to, decisions in regards to evaluating production employee’s needs and day to day running of production.

 

Supervisory Responsibility – This position has supervisory responsibility of hourly production employees in multiple departments with little support on off shifts.

Fabric Specificiation Manager

 About the Role:

This role will suit a technical products-minded professional who is driven, goal-oriented, and thrives in a varied and fast paced environment with the ability to build strong professional working relationships at all levels. With knowledge in the principles and practices of window glazing/glass, architecture, building science, energy, and the specification process. The successful candidate will have excellent problem solving and communication skills in addition to technical product knowledge. Will work closely with a wide range of business influencers, including Commercial Window Covering Fabricators, Architects, Designers, and Commercial Dealers, the ability to command and influence people is key to this role. This role is based in Cowpens, SC and reports to the Commercial Business Manager.

• Point person for Mermet commercial customers for fabric selection, technical fabric information, solar performance, and overall glass + fabric combined performance.

• Point person to the architectural & design community for Mermet.

• Specify Mermet on commercial and hospitality roller shade projects.

• Review architectural designs to provide comprehensive solar shade analysis for proper fabric selection and specification highlighting Mermet fabrics to architects, interior designers, specifiers, and other AEC-related groups.

• Work to attain Mermet fabrics as the Basis of Design (BOD) in commercial project specifications. • Identify key targets in the region who have influence over product selection at each stage of design and construction.

• Maintain and update CRM software with project pipeline of all tracked building information, construction timelines, and fabrics selected. This would also include tracking the growth of target AEC firms with logged meetings conducted, BOD’s created, CEU’s given, contacts and other related relevant job activities.

• Create industry awareness of quantified fabric performance when analyzed with the glazing.

Key Qualifications Include:

• 3+ years technical sales experience to AEC for either a glass manufacturer, window sales, other solar control building material, or industry consultant (energy, lighting, or building facade).

• Results oriented, self-starter and proactive solution provider.

• Proven planning and organization skills leading to the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

About the Role:

Key Functions and Responsibilities:

• Manage a Microsoft Windows based computer system including servers, desktops, laptops, tablets, and mobile devices.

• Create and manage system permissions and user accounts in an Active Directory environment.

• Perform server administration tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, print services, research event log warnings and errors, and resource monitoring, ensuring system architecture components work together seamlessly.

• Monitor datacenter health using preexisting management tools and respond to hardware issues as they arise; help build, test, and maintain new servers as needed.
