Back to List
At Mermet, we pride ourselves on fostering a workplace that feels like family. This year, we’re celebrating five incredible employees who have reached a remarkable milestone: 20+ years of service. From their teamwork and advice to their favorite pastimes, their stories reflect what makes Mermet so special.
Teresa Dotson & Kim Martin – Inspection Besties
When you’ve worked side-by-side for two decades, you’re bound to make some lifelong friends—just ask Teresa Dotson and Kim Martin, who work in Inspection. They’re more than coworkers; they’re best friends.
What do you enjoy most about working at Mermet?
Teresa: “It’s a friendly environment. I enjoy working for Eric Delorme. He’s always been here, he’s good. The job’s not hard. Mermet cares about people.”
Kim: “I’ve made some really good friends—Teresa’s one of them.” (The two nod in agreement, adding a cheerful “Yep!”). “It’s a pleasant environment. You’re not pushed.”
Advice for new employees?
Teresa: “Come in and do your job. Do what you’re supposed to do.”
Kim: “Be here every day and show up on time.”
When you’re not at work, how do you like to spend your free time?
Family is at the heart of their lives outside of work. Teresa cherishes time with her family and a 5-year-old boy she cares for through kinship care. Kim, on the other hand, loves babysitting her grandson.
Their favorite Mermet project? Both agree the 5S project stands out as their favorite.
Gerardo Gutierrez-Ornelas – Maintenance Expert
Gerardo’s journey at Mermet started at the very beginning—he’s worked as a creeler, in quality inspection, weaving, and more before landing in the Maintenance shop.
What do you enjoy most about working at Mermet?
Gerardo: “Everything.” Whether it’s working alongside current or former employees, Gerardo values the connections he’s made.
Advice for new employees?
“Don’t quit. If you like the job, you’ll learn step-by-step. To grow, you have to work your way from the bottom to the top. Some days are hard, but once you get it—smooth sailing.”
How do you spend your free time?
“I like spending time with my family. We travel at least once a year. No pets, unless you count the animals around my house!”
Eric Delorme – Senior Director of Operations
With a passion for collaboration, Eric’s leadership has shaped Mermet’s success.
What do you enjoy most about working at Mermet?
"I enjoy collaborating with different departments, seeing how much everyone cares about their job, and talking to people on the plant floor and in the office during my morning tour."
Advice for growth?
“Stay focused, be curious, and do your best to deliver high-quality work. Mermet loves giving opportunities to employees.”
Favorite project?
